After two weekends of the open beta, much is known about Battlefield 6's multiplayer, and other than there being no large maps to test, players got to see almost everything. However, for those more interested in Battlefield 6's campaign, there is only a single trailer to go off, with few confirmed details.

It is known that the conflict depicted will start in 2027 between NATO and a mercenary group called Pax Armata, and by looking at the multiplayer maps for BF6, it's possible to see a few of the theaters of war. These include Gibraltar, Cairo, Tajikistan, and New York. However, beyond the setting, nothing is known about how the campaign will work, and there are no current indicators as to how good it will be. With that in mind, the following is a wishlist of things players can hope for in the Battlefield 6 campaign.

A Long Enough Campaign To Make A Single-Player Purchase Worth It

Replayability Would Also Be Great, With Different Choices & Ways To Beat Missions

One simple requirement of Battlefield 6 is that its campaign is long enough to warrant a purchase from those who aren't as interested in multiplayer. With stunning graphics and a more grounded setting, the BF6 campaign has the potential to be up there with the best Call of Duty: Modern Warfare campaigns, but if it is pitifully short, it won't count for much.

Some form of replayability would also be great for those most interested in the campaign. For example, the game could have multiple endings as was the case in Battlefield 4, and missions could be fairly open, allowing them to be completed in different ways. All that being said, quality must come before quantity.

One Full Campaign Rather Than Multiple War Stories

A Single Campaign Is More Cinematic

Battlefield 6's Battle Royale is Poised to Beat Call of Duty: Warzone at the Most Important Game

Some recent Battlefield games have featured multiple mini-campaigns, known as 'War Stories', and while these can be good in their own right, they miss out on narrative, build-up, and a climactic finish, all punctuated with betrayals and shocks.

Hopefully, the Battlefield 6 campaign will return to the old formula of one epic story. This doesn't mean the campaign shouldn't have multiple POV characters to control, as playing a variety of soldiers is great, but their stories should all be tied together in some way. A single campaign will also get players more interested in the fictional war between NATO and Pax Armata.

A Playable Medic Character, Or At Least One Medic Mission

A New Way To Play The Campaign

Battlefield 6 is Taking Inspiration from the Best Games in the Franchise

Playing as a medic in multiplayer Battlefield games has always been fun, but it would be even better in a campaign, especially if players have to choose which characters to save. The mechanics are already there for medic gameplay, including the newly added ability to drag allies to safety.

It would be great if one of the main characters were a medic, or perhaps the squad could have a medic, but when they tragically die, the player must take over their responsibilities. Instead of taking lives, the emphasis would be on saving lives, shaking up the traditional shooter gameplay.

Memorable Characters To Care About

Hopefully, With Some Iconic Quotes Too

Players have spotted fake Battlefield 6 playtest invites.

While the Battlefield 6 campaign will undoubtedly be visually stunning and immersive, the story needs strong human characters to relate to and care about. Players should fear for the lives of these characters, who would ideally be brave, flawed, and in possession of gallows humor.

From these characters' lips will hopefully spill quotes and quips that have the potential to become iconic in the gaming community, similar to how Captain Price has a number of great quotes from the Call of Duty franchise. An engaging villain who isn't purely evil will also help sell the story.

A God-Tier Stealth Mission

All The Best FPS Campaigns Have One Legendary Stealth Mission

Battlefield 6 is already blowing up on Steam

While Battlefield 6 should not be a stealth or spec-ops game, as the franchise is best at depicting all-out war, there should still be room for one unforgettable stealth mission. All the best FPS war game campaigns have one of these, from crawling through long grass in ghillie suits to taking out targets at the exact same time in the snow with silenced sniper rifles.

From the trailer, it's possible to see one mission where night vision is being utilized, so there will at least be stealth in some form.

Show The True Horrors Of War

Tough Choices Should Be Made

To rank among the best war game campaigns, Battlefield 6 cannot shy away from the reality and horror of war. Games and films should almost always do so to remind the world of the human cost of war. Showing war crimes and horrendous choices can also make for a more realistic and engaging story, where anything can happen.

Whilst the destruction of famous bridges, landmarks, and homes is inevitable, just by looking at the trailer alone, material loss is not enough. The campaign needs to show civilian lives at stake, as well as those of the soldiers, to make players care. If the campaign turns out to be a glorified demo of how good BF6's destruction physics are, it will quickly be forgotten about.
